Construction

Welded aluminium plate, on alloy frames and stringers..The keel is a conventional long keel, with internal lead ballast.

Decks and cabin-tops are also of welded aluminium with simulated teak covering..The hull and deck are sprayed internally with closed cell insulation.

Mac Lir is an eye-catcher wherever she sails, with her classic sweet sheerline and clipper bow.. Her tan sails are easily handled with 3 roller furlers.

She was built by Jarlath Cunnane, Boatbuilders, Westport.. Specialist builders of aluminium yachts, including the Polar Expedition vessel "Northabout", which twice circumnavigated the North polar ice cap..

Accommodation

2 berths are fitted in main saloon, on port and starboard sides, and a large V shaped is located forward.

Toilet is a Jabsco manual pump-out.. Hot and cold is supplied to wash-basin and shower..

All cushions are in a blue material..

Equipment

Galley has 3 ring gas cooker with oven, 2 stainless steel sinks with H/C water. a top-loading fridge is installed under worktop.

The galley has ample storage cupboards, drawers and lockers..

A pressure pump supplies water to the sinks and shower..

Hot water is supplied via an engine-heated a calorifier.

Cabin heater.

A Slipner Bow-thruster is also installed, with its own dedicated battery. The controls for this are conveniently located at the helm position.

Sails & Spars

The foremast and main mast are made of aluminium alloy by Sparcraft Masts,both mast are new and stepped on craft..

Single spreaders are fitted to each mast.

The boom for the main mast is fitted at the goose-neck, and is new and also made of aluminium alloy. all shrouds are stainless steel..

All sails are made from Dacron, made by McWilliams.i.e.:- Jib, Fore sail, Staysail,Main sail,Yankee sail and Fisherman sail..

A total of 8 winches are fitted, 2 self-tailing fitted on masts, 4 large self-tailing mounted in cockpit coamings, and 2 self-tailing winches on cabin top..
