DESCRIPTION

Clinker launch, most likely built as an open boat which had a deck and cabin added in later years.

Rebuilt by the Harbour Master at Bantham, south Devon in the 1990’s and kept locally ever since. Just given a fresh coat of paint and antifoul, engine service and will soon be afloat and in commission.

Comfortable cabin that will sleep 2-3 people with a large safe cockpit.

The engine is the well respected BMW D50, famed for reliability.

Construction

Clinker planked in mahogany all copper rivet fastened to steam bent oak timbers.

Marine plywood decks sheathed in GRP and finished in non-slip deck paint.

Coachroof with solid timber coamings, likely to be iroko, painted inside and out and fitted with bronze portlights. Coachroof deck has a distinct camber to help increase headroom below, made from sheathed marine plywood.

Aft cockpit with scrubbed sole boards. Lockers along the aft end and the starboard side with varnished mahogany thwart lids.

Transom hung rudder with wheel steering, controlled by lines from the wheel and through turning pulleys to a tiller under the aft deck.

Machinery

BMW D50 3cyl 45hp diesel engine. Recently serviced.

Stainless shaft to a centreline fixed 3 blade bronze propeller.

Single 12 volt battery charged from the engine alternator.

Stainless steel fuel tank with filters.

Accommodation

2 berth cabin with galley.

Port side door into the cabin from the cockpit with the galley to port and engine box on the centreline.

Galley area has a stainless sink woth manually pumped fresh water and space for a portable gas stove.

Twin V-berth in the bows which has an infill section to create a large double berth.

Can sleep 3 people easily.
