DESCRIPTION
Wooden Ships Comments on this Turks of Kingston Rowing Skiff
Built by Turks of Kingston on the River Thames in 1910. The dinghy is complete with a rig and oars plus an original frame to take an awning for hot summer days on the river.
Sold to a very experienced wooden boat owner through Wooden Ships last year, she has been completely refitted and is now in sparkling condition. Comes with a recently refitted road trailer and new all over cover.

ConstructionClinker planked in Honduras mahogany all copper fastened to steam bent oak timbers.
Hull totally stripped inside and out to reveal very few issues with the planks and frames. Some re-fastening of hood ends and a few small splines and graving pieces were all that was needed.
Oak stem and keel with a mahogany transom.
New oak breast hook fitted.
Finished in Deks Olje D1 & D2 with a gloss ivory white hull.
Varnished thwarts with grown oak knees.
Galvanised centreplate in a wooden centreboard case. Plate raised and lowered on a tackle.
RigIt is believed the rig is not original and fitted at a later date.
Small gunter rig on varnished wooden spars. The foot of the sail is short making it easily managed, designed for some assistance when moving down the Thames this is not a high performance rig.
Mast held in a wooden tabernacle.
