Built in 2005, this is one of five boats constructed by the Wootton Bridge Boatbuilders Ltd to a design known as the Dartmouth Launch. The original design was commissioned by the Commodore of the Isle of Wight yacht club. Indulgence was used a handful of times before being laid up ashore in a dry barn and was not used for a number of years until she was bought by the current owner in late 2018.

Since then, the launch has been used occasionally for 3 – 4 months over the summer season. It has been trailed to Cornwall or moored on the Leeds & Liverpool canal. For the remaining months, the launch has been stored in a dry factory and is in very good condition.

This is a very nice size launch, easy to handle and launch with one person but big enough to carry a group of people in safety. Her elegant sheer means the bows are relatively high and throw the seas away in a bit of a chop.

The boat has been looked after and a number of improvements have been made. In 2022, the launch was inspected by a qualified surveyor as part of the Boat Safety Scheme and has a certificate valid until 2026. The boat has a good inventory and is absolutely ready to go.

• Clinker planked in 7/16″ Brazilian mahogany all copper rivet fastened to steamed oak timbers.
• Iroko back bone with Utile for the floors.

• Beta Marine 10hp fresh water cooled diesel fitted new in 2005, serviced in 2023.
• Plastic rotary moulded fuel tank under the foredeck with flexible fuel hose and fuel filter. Extra in line Wasp diesel filter fitted in 2020.
• 2 x 12 volt batteries under the foredeck. Batteries new in 2023.
• Stainless steel shaft with single lever Morse controls to a fixed 3 blade bronze propeller. Fitted with an external rope cutter. Conventional stern gland with packing and a greaser.
• Helm console in the centre of the boat with engine and steering controls.
• Transom hung rudder with hydraulic steering to the wooden steering wheel.
• Propeller protected by a 316 stainless steel keel support – for shingle & soft sand.
• For ease of extraction from shingle or sandy beach, the launch has a Cornish designed 316 stainless steel bow towing mechanism to enable the launch to be pulled by a tractor.
