Description
Taro is a nicely presented example of an Ocean 30 with the benefit of a folding canopy and screens allowing access under low bridges and with twin engines, she is a truly versatile craft for the waterways.
Viewings can be arranged 7 days a week by appointment please.
Construction
White GRP moulded hull, topsides, decks and superstructure, grey painted non-slip deck panels, alloy framed cabin windows and folding screens with toughened glass, stainless steel pulpit rail, grab rails, stanchions and hand rails, stainless steel cockpit rail and bathing ladder, alloy/PVC gunwale fendering, stainless steel canopy frame, blue fabric cockpit canopy and matching window covers (there is also an old canopy, which could be used as a winter cover). Please note, although the hull topsides and superstructure have been painted, they still display a good quality finish. Taro was last out of the water and antifouled in March 2019. Surveys were previously carried out in 2015 and 2017.
Accommodation
An easily accessed aft cockpit with rear bench seating, general stowage beneath, canopy with removable, zipped side panels, port side helm position, matching reversible helm's and co-pilot's chairs, lifting floor panels with access to the engines, batteries, LPG locker, fuel tank and bilge area. There is also an electric fridge box in a free-standing box. A central doorway leads to the cabin with steps down to-:
A modernised WC & shower compartment to port with wash basin, mixer tap, shower attachment, manual sea toilet, mirrors and wipe down surfaces.
Dinette with wrap around seating, storage beneath and pedestal table that drops down to convert into a double berth. There is a large storage locker between the dinette seating and forward bulkhead.
The galley to starboard has been re-fitted with a dark grey work top to compliment the original joinery incorporating a stainless steel sink and drainer with hot and cold taps, locker and drawer storage and an oven with stainless steel heat deflector.
Seating forward of the galley with storage beneath, also offering an additional single berth.
The forward cabin is private and separated from the saloon area by a full height and width bulkhead with a cabin door in the middle and comprises twin vee berths with infill cushions to form a double berth, storage beneath, a large hanging locker on the port side and a deck hatch above.
There are windows all round that provide light and air to the accommodation. The interior has been well maintained in its original varnished Sapele ply and timber to compliment the modern touches, including the head linings, which have been nicely re-done in white plastic panelling.
