Boat Overview

The Challenger 38 is designed by John G. Alden. The hull is molded by Halmatic and completed in Denmark. This blue water yacht is a masthead yawl known for its heavy construction, steady handling capabilities, and excellent righting capabilities.

Spring Tides is well suited for long journeys and beyond.

She underwent a complete restoration in 2003 that included:

• Superstructure
• Cabin / Cockpit
• Rigging
• Fuel tanks replaced

The masts are made of aluminum and the booms are made of spruce. A mechanical system with a hand crank operates to drop or lift the centerboard mounted in the keel.

The boat is being stored for the winter at Safe Harbors Bruce and Johnsons Marina.
