Catalyst rode out hurricanes Irma and Maria in Puerto Rico with not a scratch and has had the bottom completely cleaned of old anti-fouling paint and prep sanded for new application in Jan 2018
Rudders were removed for proper anti-fouling paint removal and will be re-installed with new bearing in Jan 2018
Catalyst sailed from the Admiral Yacht factory in Cape Town to the U.S. in 2001. The current owners are the second owners and have followed in the original owners footsteps, spending considerable time and money to outfit her properly, and care for her impeccably. She is well equipped, in perfect mechanical order, and looks lovely.
She is a four cabin, two central head, galley-up version of this popular catamaran with the current owners converting the forward port cabin into a great workshop/storeroom. They have updated her along the way to make her a most comfortable, well set up cruising catamaran perfect for a couple or small family.
The Admiral 38 is a very large 38 footer - she has high volume hulls, great beam, and a really spacious salon, as well as aft cockpit. Of the cats in this size range the Admiral is the most "ocean going" in my view - these cats are capable of sailing around the world, not only because they have large payload capacity, but great free-board, solid construction, and powerful Spar-craft rigs
