Introducing the reluctant sale of the "Admiral Collingwood"...
Commisioned by a Scottish Council and built by JS White & Co Ltd Cockenzie East Lothian in 1967 as a training vessel up and down the east and west cost of scotland for underpriviledged children, and boasting a very rare and sought after Kalvin R4 Diesil Engine in fully working order and in immaculate working condition. (Fitted with a 2.5:1 reverse/reduction hydraulic kelvin gearbox & Kelvin Stern gear) And, PetterAB1 2-cylinder Marine Auxiliary Engine with Alternator. The Admiral Collingwood is a beautiful 22.5 tonne one-off design and in need of some long awaited tlc. a blank canvas for turning into a residential dwelling/business opportunity to use as a charter vessel (this is what she was when commissioned and was able to sleep max of 12. She boasts a huge living space and we have plans to extend the wheelhouse. We have fitted 3 large solar panels to become an enviromently friendly vessel. The fuel & water tanks hold 340 gallons each, perfect for those long excursions. She was taken out of the water 2 months ago in a working boat yard! On inspection the hull below the water line was found to be in excellent condition with only a few minor repairs required. last year we completed the recaulking of the front deck which is no small area, we currently enjoy living on board, admittedly it’s a little ruff but she’s such a great space and it provides the opportunity to evaluate what and how the internal rebuild will be. She has a lot of space & potential! The hull is not a complicated structure the Oak ribs are in sections and it’s the upper sections that require the attention with a few supporting joints and the timber can be supplied locally. So, if you’re looking for a project boat with character, space with beautiful lines and definite presence then the Admiral Collingwood is definitely for you. There’s a substantial amount of Larch timber for the hull available too. The new owner will be responsible for continuing the ground fees for the duration of repairs and the monthly electric fees …
