Azimut Seadeck 6 Review: Stylish Cruiser to Entertain and Relax 

The new (2024) Azimut Seadeck 6 is a 56-foot, 7-inch luxury sports cruiser that offers strong entertainment capabilities, and solid performance and handling with a cruise-worthy three-cabin layout suitable for family and friends in multiple combinations. A signature feature of this model and no doubt its successors is a single-level lounge area with fold-down bulkheads and an expansive stern platform that converts to a water-level bathing area via wide, inviting steps. 

With the Seadeck design, Azimut has taken a distinctive stand for luxurious sea-level boating in a hull that has a good turn of speed and is also part of a new line of designs that aim to reduce emissions by up to 40 percent. Key Features of the Seadeck 6

Dubbed "Fun Island" by Azimut, the Seadeck 6 introduces a fresh take on maritime relaxation. BoatTest reviewer Jeff Hammond describes how the aft deck is transformed into a one-level lounge with plush outdoor furnishings reminiscent of a high-end spa resort. Folding bulwarks to port and starboard expand the deck, creating a spacious, open-air feel that blends indoors and outdoors. The stern features fold-out steps descending to the water, allowing a graceful entry into the water.

Inside, large retractable windows blur the boundaries between interior comfort and exterior vistas. The main saloon provides an unobstructed view of the ocean, complemented by low-slung furniture and luxurious cream and sand-colored interiors. The concealed galley evokes the subtlety of luxury island resort suites, ensuring practicality without compromising elegance.

The helm station offers superior visibility, practical controls, and thoughtful ergonomic details, including Volvo Penta IPS joystick controls, robust windshield wipers, defoggers, and air conditioning vents. This configuration ensures comfort and good maneuverability, even in challenging conditions.

Below deck, the Seadeck 6 presents three well-appointed cabins. The amidships master stateroom provides exceptional headroom and comfort, featuring a luxurious settee convertible into an additional sleeping area. The forward VIP cabin does a good job maximizing space and comfort in a relatively narrow bow area and includes an en suite head. The third cabin has twin berths and compact, practical accommodations suitable for guests or family members.

Performance of the Azimut Seadeck 6

Powered by three Volvo Penta IPS engines, the Azimut Seadeck 6 delivers both reasonable efficiency and speed as well as a hull shape that should handle rough sea conditions. According to BoatTest.com's evaluation, the yacht achieved a commendable top speed of 33.15 knots in real-world conditions (i.e. with a boat-load of journalists aboard), matching Azimut’s claimed maximum of 33 knots. Optimal cruising speed ranges around 22 knots, balancing fuel efficiency with a nice cruising mode the manufacturer suggests at between 18.5 and 24.8 knots, consuming 1.8 to 1.9 gallons per nautical mile for a range of about 300 nautical miles. Fly-by-wire technology provides smooth, responsive handling.

Azimut’s focus on sustainability has led the designers to reduce overall weight with use of carbon fiber in the superstructure, and the integration of solar panels in the hard top. Along with the installation of lithium batteries, the extra power generation will help reduce generator use at anchor while the air conditioning and other appliances are running.

Pricing of the Azimut Seadeck 6

As the Seadeck 6 is a relatively recent model, used options are hard to come by if available at all. Current listings on Rightboat.com reflect the premium positioning of the Azimut Seadeck 6, with prices in the range of $3.5 million USD or (more commonly) “P.O.A.” (price on asking). Models may be available through European or U.S. dealers..  

Conclusion 

The Azimut Seadeck 6 represents a distinctive new line that Azimut expects to extend with similar models at 71 feet (Seadeck 7) and 84 feet (Seadeck). The Seadeck’s blend of performance and luxurious, innovative open-air living spaces creates a sophisticated vessel for family outings or entertaining guests at sea or at the quayside.
