When you combine a builder with incredibly high standards of construction (Derecktor) with one of the most respected naval architects (Raymond Hunt), the result is a yacht with pedigree.
'Summer Song' has pedigree in droves. With her elegant, almost timeless lines, her famed deep V hull form and her traditional interior layout, 'Summer Song' is a vessel that commands respect from the most discerning yachtsman.
In addition to the pedigree that she has already, she has the massive benefit of having been extensively refit/rebuilt in 2008 with almost all new systems - electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, electronics, entertainment, stabilizers and engines. Nothing went untouched. This allows an easier ownership of a classic yacht without the ongoing headache of servicing/repairing classic systems.
'Summer Song' is a very special opportunity. Please call for further information and to schedule getting aboard.
Pilothouse
Entering the yacht either through the port and starboard steps from the aft cockpit or through the doors port and starboard on the forward edge of the pilothouse, you walk into a bright and open area that combines one of the main living spaces and helm of the yacht. Starting aft are opposing settees that surround a high-low table with expanding leaves, a good place for relaxing cocktails or even a formal dinner.
Forward of this seating area is a central island that houses a flat screen television that raises out of the island on the aft end. On the forward end of the island is a wet-bar with a refrigerator and ice-maker each side.
Forward again of the island is a large bench for the helm on centerline. The helm is wonderfully laid out with all modern navigation equipment (see electronics detail) and fabulous visibility.
Cockpit
Stern-most on the yacht is an open aft cockpit. This has steps each side up to the pilothouse forward and an opening transom door to the swim platform aft. Teak covering boards surround the cockpit. A box with engine controls, rudder control and bow thruster control make stern-to docking easy. A warping winch in the center of the transom coming aft make working lines in the cockpit very manageable.
Main salon
Going forward on the starboard side of the pilothouse down a few steps you enter the main salon. A very traditional look with settee, chaise lounge and armchairs in a very bright space thanks to the three huge fixed ports port and starboard and a further three fixed ports forward.
Galley
Forward from the main salon down a few steps is the galley area. A fully fitted galley is to starboard with range, oven, refrigerator/freezer and sink. To port is a dinette with two benches and fixed table.
Forward/crew cabin
Forward from the galley is the forward cabin and head. The head with separate shower compartment first to port followed by the over/under bunks to starboard just forward of it. To port of the bunks is a huge bank of storage lockers and drawers.
Mid cabin
Aft of the main salon down a few steps to port is the guest cabin. This is laid out with split berths divided by a center table and drawer set. Forward in the cabin is a large hanging locker.
Mid cabin/day head
Directly across the hallway from the mid cabin is the guest/day head with separate shower stall.
Master cabin
Aft-most is the owner/master cabin. Laid out with a central queen berth with bed side tables/drawers each side, a desk to starboard, huge storage to port, a hanging locker forward to port and access to the en-suite head/shower to starboard.
