Escape, a 2001 Camano 31 located in St. Petersburg, Florida, is sail away ready for your next adventure. She is very well equipped, recently updated and professionally maintained to the highest of standards. The Camano 31, in production since 1989 has earned a reputation as a spacious trawler with a unique, efficient hull shape. No matter the cruising grounds, Gulf of Mexico, the Great Circle route up the Atlantic seaboard into the Great Lakes and down the Mississippi River or the Bahamas the Camano will make those passages safely and efficiently at either displacement or planing speeds, from 7 knots to 12 knots.

The Salon - You will not find more ambient light on a boat of this size or many larger boats boasting fourteen windows offering a full 360 degree view from inside the boat, ideal for boat handling while operating from the inside lower helm or just observing the scenery around you while enjoying lunch or dinner at the table that adequately seats six. The salon also houses storage to starboard and storage under the L shaped Settee to port. There are custom curtains inside for the aft, port and starboard side windows and the fore and aft windows also have external coverings. The two aft covers have a special insulated backing material reducing the temperature by 10+ degrees, excellent for when the stern is facing the setting sun while maximizing the efficiency of the air conditioning system.

The Inside Helm is fully equipped with the following: Saturn Compass, Garmin GPSMAP Chartplotter/Sounder combo, Simrad VHF/AIS Receiver with Simrad wireless handset VHF/AIS Receiver wired to a dedicated Antenna. Both units are interfaced to the Standard Horizon PA/Hailer, Raytheon/Autohelm wired handheld autopilot, Keypower Bow Thruster controls, Maxwell Windlass controls, AC/DC panel, Engine instrumentation and JVC Receiver/CD Stereo system.

The Galley is nicely equipped with a Force 10 three burner propane stove with oven that looks hardly used, Kenmore microwave, and Nova Kool AC/DC refrigeration. Adequate storage and 110V outlets are present with one outlet wired to the Heart 1500W Continuous Inverter which will operate the Microwave without the Generator in operation.

The Master Stateroom forward boasts a V-berth measuring 6' 4" head to toe. The overhead hatch with both screen and removable light blocking cover provides plenty of light and along with the opening/screened portlights provide natural ventilation when not enjoying the conditioned air from the 16,000 BTU reverse cycle unit. Below the V berth is excellent access to the Bow Thruster. There is a two rod hanging locker between the stateroom and head. The fresh water Vacuflush Head with Inline filter, shower with sink and mirror is also well lit and has an opening portlight with screen.

The Engine is a Volvo TAMD41P 200 HP with direct drive and is located deep in the Keel cavity offering additional stability while underway and excellent access for servicing of the engine. The four blade propeller along with the balance of the running gear is protected by the keel. A spare four blade propeller is stored in the aft lazarette. Outboard on each side of the Engine are areas for stowage of spares and other items along with the port and starboard fuel tanks totaling approximately 100 gallons and the port and starboard water tanks totaling 77 gallons. Aft of the engine is the Entec West 4.2KW diesel generator, more than adequate to operate the A/C load for this boat. The engine area is well insulated with two layers of sound deadening insulation making it easy to carry on a conversation while underway. The four Group 27 house batteries and one Group 27 engine starting battery are enclosed and secured in battery boxes in the Engine compartment.

Boarding the Boat is made easy with multiple options either by the swim platform then through the Transom door to the cockpit or stepping over the bulwark to the molded steps down to the cockpit. The propane locker is located out of the way port side forward and under the ladder to the fly bridge. A hot/cold Shower fixture is located on the port side of the cockpit. A locking hatch in the cockpit opens to provide access to the rudder, auto pilot, and quite adequate storage for spares, fishing equipment, lines, extra fenders, etc. The cockpit has built in fender storage along the Transom making for quick and easy deployment and stowage. Weaver snap davits are located on the swim platform for dinghy stowage (currently stowed in the cockpit Lazarette).

The Side Decks have stainless steel hand rails from the cockpit to the foredeck making for safe access while underway, at anchor or at the dock. The stepped foredeck is generous in size and can accommodate occasional deck chairs. Foot pedal switches are located forward for easy operation of the Maxwell electric windlass. Ground tackle consists of Delta Plow Anchor with 45 feet of chain and 200 feet of rode, secondary Bruce 10KG anchor with chain and 200 feet of rode.

The Flybridge Going up the cockpit ladder to the flybridge you will find a large observation deck aft of the helm that has seating for three. To starboard aft you have a mast for mounting of a TV antenna or radome for radar. Also in this area you have two mounting brackets for outboard motors along with the davit/crane system for lowering the motor. The upper helm is fully complemented by the Garmin GPSMAP Chartplotter/Sonar combo, ICOM VHF with dedicated antenna, Raytheon/Autohelm Autopilot, Saturn Compass, Keypower Bow Thruster controls, Standard Horizon PA/Loud Hailer, and Dual Electronics CD Receiver with 3.7" LCD and Bluetooth stereo system.

The Hull below the waterline is 100% hand laid solid fiberglass while above the water line Camano uses CORE-CELL foam in hand laid fiberglass for strength and stiffness. The house and deck are screwed and glued to the hull which is typical for fiberglass construction. Camano goes a step further by using fiberglass internally to bond all sections together, providing greater strength and reducing the likelihood of leaks.

Maintenance The current (second) owner of this boat maintains a rigorous maintenance schedule including ongoing/regular monthly professional cleaning and detailing to include monthly washing from bridge to waterline, scheduled monthly/quarterly wash and wax, last buffed and waxed in June, next scheduled buff and wax is September. Bottom cleaned monthly by diver. New Anti-fouling paint and cutlass bearing in 2018. Electronic systems were updated by the current owner along with many other equipment items noted in this Listing. As stated in the beginning, Escape is truly just that, ready for you to immediately slip the lines and head for your next escape!
