The condition or level of safety equipment on board is not to be negotiated on following survey. It is likely to be listed by most surveyors but is not structural or an integral working part of the vessel and is not to be used to further negotiate the price down after survey. We strongly suggest that for your own personal safety that when purchasing a yacht you provide new safety equipment rather than relying on second hand gear.
Should you become the new owner of this yacht then the responsibility to re-register or update official bodies for items such as EPIRB, VHF, MMSI or AIS becomes yours.
The Bavaria 40 Ocean centre cockpit was created by Bavaria to fulfil the need for a strong, comfortable, easy to handle ocean cruising yacht. With a heavier layup and more intricate construction, the Ocean series yachts were more expensive than the Cruiser Series. This Owners version has a superb, spacious layout with a huge stateroom aft, dual access heads and separate shower compartment.
This yacht has had just two owners from new, has never been chartered, and has always been fastidiously maintained. She has masses of new and upgraded equipment and is totally set-up for comfortable cruising. We, and the original owners, have always wintered the yacht in Crete, where there is a hugely popular small marina which has a two year waiting list. Our current annual contract in Crete can be transferred to new owners if required.
