Masts on the Cutty Sark raised once more
In 2007, a fire caused by an industrial vacuum cleaner lead to the famous vessel, Cutty Sark to be victim to £10m worth of damage.
However, work is now in progress to repair the vessel which will be officially reopened by her majesty the Queen in late April 2012.
Currently in Greenwich, a crane has placed a foremast on the 19th Century tea clipper, while two other masts will be added over the weekend.
At the time of the fire, conservation work had been taking place with many items having been moved into storage, including the masts and saloon.
The ship's director, Richard Doughty is thrilled to have the masts raised once again on 'an extraordinary survivor' the Cutty Sark.
