Closure of CJ Broom & Sons

CJ Broom & Sons, one of Britains oldest boat builders has been closed down, with the loss of approximately 70 jobs. However, 15 members of staff have been kept on to finish work on the final Broom boats in Brundall, Norfolk.



It has been said that the manufacturing side of the business had been deteriorating for several years, with very little output towards the end. Although it is not set to affect its parent company Broom Boats Ltd, which runs a 150 berth marina.



Garner and business partner Akis Chrisovelides, who took over the company in July, plan on restarting production of Broom craft before Christmas.
