Further compensation bids after BP's oil spill
The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) has written to the Gulf Coast Claims Facility (GCCF) in regards to compensation for its members. Cindy Squires, the NMMA’s chief counsel for public affairs has written that the oil spill has impacted three out of five recreational marine businesses. And a further four out of five companies are to expect some effect on business through the remainder of the year.Squires then identifies how 76% of NMMA members had predicted a sales growth in 2010 before the oil spill.
It has been asked how members may gain compensation for their loss in earnings and an increase in warranty claims due to the spill.
Squires also wrote of behalf on marinas, charter companies and dealers who were impacted, enquiring about a six month emergency plan and long-term compensation.
