Plastiki's four month voyage

After four months at sea, Plastiki, has made it to Sydney Harbour, having started 9000miles away in San Francisco. The boat was created using 12,500 plastic bottles attached with organic glue to two pontoons. The aim of which to raise awareness of potential dangers posed due to plastic waste.



Hundreds of people turned out in Sydney to welcome the Plastiki and its crew of six.



The boat left Francisco in March, crossing the Pacific and then travelling via Western Samoa and New Caledonia before arriving in Australia.
