The Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race began at 0800 this morning in clear skies and bright sunshine.



It has now been stated that ICAP Leopards retirement was due to the goose-neck fitting, attaching the boom to the mast. They are obviously very disappointed but had no choice but to pull out and make their way back to Southampton.



In other news, Volvo Open 70, Telefonica Azul, is currently averaging over 18 knots, leading the race. But Groupama, is only seven miles astern, after a delayed start.
