| Owner's Comments | Technical Spezification of a Saga 40 'Steppenwolf' Build: 1994 Builder: Skentelberry, Plymouth - Hull,deck, rudder, engine Clyde Classic, Glasgow - teak deck, interior wood work and installation work. Dimensions: LOA 40 ft, Beam 12ft.1 1/4 " Displacement 13.58 tons, Ballast 5 tons Construction: High quality GRP moulding for hull and deck. Ballast keel in cast iron. Hull and keel has been epoxied in spring 96 with seven layers of Gelshield by International Colour of hull: dark blue with a teak rubbing strake with a brass rubbing cope Engine: Perkins M 60, 60 PS at 4000 1/min, natural aspiration-not turbocharged. 1 alternator with 75 A . Diesel tank app. 290 liters, stainless steel, with sump and drainage. two diesel filters in parallel operation. Hurth gear unit and an 'Aquadrive Unit' for a better alignment and less vibrations. Fixed 3 blade prop. Engine hours: 1000 Mast and rigging: Eurospar mast and boom. Mast is one section,slab reefing for 3 reefs. spinnaker pole with pole stowage on the mast. profurl headsail reefing, climbing steps to first spreader. masthead radar reflector - cyclops. Lights: deck flood, steaming light, anchor light. Standing rigging all 10 mm, but backstay 8 mm, all with Norseman terminals.# All halyards and reefing on the mast. Fitted are three Harken winches. Water heater, heated by the engine or by 220 V app. 50 liter. galley with a fridge cabinet and a double sink. Beside the fridge, there is also a freezer cabinet in the aft locker. Both a cooled by engine driven system and holding plates. ( System Gruner from the USA ) Well insulated engine room. Toilette with 70 liter holding tank, and possibility to pump out also from the outside. Hot and cold water shower. All manual pumps are double diahragm pumps made by Patey/UK in solid alloy construction. There are one each: for the holding tank, for shower sump, for the bilge. Deck: Teak deck with long pieces - 10 mm thick.Two deck houses in wood. All window frames in stainless steel. So are the three deck hatches ( two large ones and a smaller one) and the five opening ports with storm covers. Three dorades in stainless steel for an excellent ventilation of the boat. All deck gear like traveller, blocks, winches etc. are made by Harken. Maxwell windlass HWC 1200 incl . chain stopper. Electrics: Beautiful made panel with plenty of different circuits and an LED 'On ' indication. Incl. EMON battery managment information system. Sonnenschein Gel batteries: house 3 x 200 AH and engine 1 x 55 AH. In an emergency, both systems can be bridged on a push button. well designed DC link box. 70 Amps battery charger.
