Originally an oak hull, frames & planks. Deck planks of Corsica pine.
Major work 1996/7:
Hull above the waterline was replanked with 5 cm pitchpine.
Approx 45 of the upper frames, through the deck were replaced.
New30mm inox keel bolts. 40mm keel protection.
New nails & calfat.
New hand rails.
Paint systems:
Below waterline - 2 coats of tar & 2 coats of silver primer and antifouled each year.
Topsides -
3 coats mix of linsed oil, red lead & white spirit.
2 coats primer & filler,
2 coats boat paint/lack.
Varnish - 4-6 coats.
Deckhouse was rebuilt new in 1990.
Saloon, sterring cabin, interior cabins refitted 1988,1994 & 2003/4.- 240hp Mercedes MB 846, 6 cyl engine.
- Engine was taken from the emergency generator in a hospital virtually unused and then marinised. Purchased from Toes, Rotterdam.
- Fresh water cooled, original Mercedes Witzemann heat exchanger.
- Twin disc gear box from Reintjes.
- 4 bladed prop.
- Bronze bearing for shaft.
- Dials in engine room & sterring position.
