| Owner's Comments | For health reasons the boat is currently for sale.
Launched in 1994, she was looked after and serviced with great care by the first owners, who raced her on only a few occasions and in fact underused her during the latter part of their ownership. Subsequently the present owner bought her in 2006 and has exercised the same degree of care. Her original cost of £100,000 included various additional equipment that has been augmented by the present owner.
Engine maintenance has been professional. Professional rigging inspection was last done in 2003 and subsequently usage was as stated, very light. She has wintered on dry land every year. Currently she swings in Fowey.
She is an ideal boat for single-handed use as all control lines are led aft to the helmsman's position and this in conjunction with the electric winches makes for ease of sailing. Add on similar systems for reefing, lazy jacks and a fully-battened sail and it doesn't really matter what the conditions are like. The craft has always given a feeling of safety.
This is an extremely well-maintained and cared for boat that has had light use.
This boat looks good on the water, she will sail well in any sea or wind, would be suitable for cruising any distances. She would also be suitable for racing, but does not have a spinnaker.
We reckon on averaging 6 knots on passage.
The Genaker is remarkably effective in appropriately light winds. |
