| Mechanical | Ford Mermaid 300 Turbo Plus 6-cylinder 300hp turbo diesel engine. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Morse type single lever controls with electric start. Shaft drive via reduction gearbox to a fixed bladed propeller. Reverse gear. The engine has been well maintained and in 2009 had an engine check, injector pump moved, new injectors and thermostat. | Extras | Built by Silva Yates (Plastics) Ltd of Jersey in 1991 to a design by Alan Buchanan. Blue GRP semi-displacement hull (professionally resprayed 2006) with white GRP superstructure and decks with moulded non-slip surfaces. Mahogany spray rails along hull and rubber rubbing strake. Aft cockpit. Wheel steering to rudder. Protective keel band.
During winter 2008 / spring 2009 a refit was undertaken to prepare for a long term European cruise, this included resealing the main wheelhouse windows, new interior lights, taps, mirror, cushions, curtains, fridge, cooker, navigation equipment, seacocks, generator. It succesfully completed the 2000nm trip and the owners have now decided to buy significantly larger hence sale. |
