DescriptionThis Callisto 435, designed by Bill Dixon, is a tough go anywhere blue water cruiser. The hull of this vessel was laid by Croft Marine in 1990 and completely finished and commissioned by Fox’s of Ipswich in March 1995. This Callisto 435 has been well designed both internally and externally as a live aboard boat to be easily handled by a couple.  The Callisto 435 has been extensively maintained by its owners and is being offered with an extremely impressive inventory of both equipment and spares too many in fact to list. She is reluctantly being sold but has been listed at an extremely competitive price. Cruiser accommodation6 berths in two cabins and saloon. Large aft double cabin with dressing table and ample cupboards and wardrobes and en-suite heads and shower. The saloon has a large settee to starboard with a U shaped dinette to port. The saloon seating provides for extra berths when required. The saloon has a warm feel to it with its mahogany veneered table, brass oil lamps, 19” flat screen 12V TV ( with built in CD player) and Panasonic 5 DVD/CD cinema and surround sound movie centre. Eberspacher diesel heating keeps the boat warm and dry. (Heating unit replaced 2009)



The midships galley to port has an extensive range of storage units, twin stainless steel sinks, hot and cold pressurised water, separate Ecology filtered water tap, large deep 240V freezer with Grunet refrigeration unit, separate 12v front opening fridge, Taylor 30L two burner gimballed paraffin cooker with oven and grill (30 gallon dedicated fuel tank) Zanussi Aquacycle 1300, 240V washing machine (new 2009).

Mechanical

Located under the companionway steps, Cummins four cylinder 80HP diesel engine in sound deadened fan vented compartment approx 2068 hours. Closed circuit freshwater cooled with heater exchanger. Electric start. Single lever control. Shaft drive to three bladed fixed pitch propeller through a reversing reduction gearbox. The engine has been regular maintained. 120 gallon stainless steel main engine diesel tank in keel feeds 10 gallon day tank. Rope cutter on shaft. Hydraulic shaft lock. Remote greasers for shaft and rudder glands.

Hull, deck and superstructure laid in white epoxy painted 4mm to 12mm steel laid by Croft Marine in 1990. Teak rubbing strake. Steel deck with self-draining centre cockpit, raised coach roof and steel dog house. Teak laid over marine plywood on decks, coach roof, cockpit seats and coamings.

Long centre keel with encapsulated lead ballast of approximately 5 tons. Keel hung rudder with Whitlock rod type wheel steering. Varnished solid mahogany, teak and mahogany faced marine ply interior joinery with teak and holly faced ply sole boards and laminate surfaces in galley and heads.

Once commissioned, Distant Drum was sailed around Great Britain before being sailed to the Mediterranean where she cruised for several years finally returning to the UK in October 2002. The present owners purchased Distant Drum in 2003 when she was refurbished and the bow thruster and updated navigation equipment was added. The present owners sailed Distant Drum to the Mediterranean via a cruise of the Atlantic coast of France, North coast of Spain and Portugal. After cruising the Mediterranean for four years Distant Drum has was returned to England 2009

1 x mast stowed spinnaker pole 2 x rail mounted running poles. 4 x jammers on mast, 4 in cockpit and 8 forward end of cockpit under doghouse.
