| Description | The Norman 40, designed by the famous Van de Stadt design bureau, is a comfortable and seagoing yacht. Built in steel, she is a surprisingly robust and fast yacht which has left many competing grp build yachts behind. The over-all design is definitely intended for long stay on board, for example suitable for Atlantic crossings. On deck, the superstructure with dark tinted glass immediately catch the eye. The original design is like a motorsailer, but this boat is much faster and has much better sailing performance than a true motorsailer. The boat we offer now is better described as a deck saloon yacht. In the sheltered cockpit is room for at least four crew members. Around the cockpit are 4 self tailing sheet winches. At the mast foot are two more winches for halyards and trim lines. The mainsail is from 2011, and the rest of the sails in good condition. The interior of cherry wood is spacious and practical with some striking details. It is clear that both the designer and the builder intended to make a true sailer. The salon has an L-shaped sofa with a table. Here is the possibility to make an extra bed. Opposite is a cupboard with ample storage space. Under the mast to the starboard is the galley with sink and coocker. Opposite is a small navigation area. There is enough headroom in the entire interior. The bow has a double bed. Both under the salon and cross under the cockpit is a single bed which could also serve as storage. The engine is very accessible by removal of some floor hatches. The Van de Stadt Norman is an interesting yacht for sailors that want excellent sailing performance without too much luxury. Are you interested?
