| Description | The Schokker 1600 that we now offer is built at Dutch shipyard Langman in Nijkerk (NL). As building material for the hull iroko wood is used, 4.5 mm thick and glued with epoxy diagonal. The decks are of teak and the superstructure of iroko, clear lackuar varnished so that the boat needs little maintenance. Like most flat-bottomed boats the Schokker 1600 provides a lot of space both above, and below decks. The boat has great stability, quiet handling and the design s seaworthiness is proven over past centuries. The boat is suitable for trips on wide open water such as North Sea, even with large groups. The boat is certainly also suitable for (semi) permanent residence. The Schokker handles easy both under sail, partly due to the hydraulic rudder control, and the 110 hp engine. The cockpit is a large practical place where the crew can operate the winches for the daggerboards. At the mastfoot is a beautiful stainless steel winch for the halyards. The bowsprit can obviously be put up in the harbor, saving marina costs. The interior is very neat and exudes a nostalgic atmosphere. However, all modern conveniences are found such as a galley with electric stove, microwave and freezer. The cushions are renovated and of good quality. The kabola heating ensures that even in the colder time of year it is pleasant to stay on board. This Schokker 1600 from first owner is well maintained and is fully ready to go.
